Of course, what isn't written in stone may be disproved this month when guitar enthusiasts flock to Fair Park for the Crossroads Guitar Festival. The three-day, charity-benefiting rapture masterminded by Eric Clapton—go ahead, call him an angel— will bring mortal fans together with some of the most revered guitar gods in the world: B. B. King, Carlos Santana, Jimmie Vaughan, Jerry Douglas, Eric Johnson, Doyle Bramhall II, Buddy Guy, Joe Walsh, Sonny Landreth, Bo Diddley, Pat Metheny, Robert Cray, Jeff Beck, and others.
