She Gets It
The past two administrations have appointed women to the most prestigious position in the cabinet, no longer relegating those of the female persuasion to the thankless roles of First Lady.
Looks like Hillary Clinton will be Secretary of State after all. President-elect Obama is expected to announce his choice after the Thanksgiving holiday. Why don’t we just get all the Thanksgiving puns out of the way now, shall we?

The past two administrations have appointed women to the most prestigious position in the cabinet, no longer relegating those of the female persuasion to the thankless roles of First Lady (such as lighting the traditional Christmas tree, reading to kindergartners for photo-ops, and creating health care policy).
Despite the fact that the media will be obsessed with Bill’s business dealings and personal escapades for the entire time that she’s in office (see: Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow), Hillary will most likely rise above the politics of the position and concentrate on her role as top diplomat. When she first came to the Senate, she came ready to work and to learn from the more senior members, both Democratic and Republican. Her former enemies who did their best to impeach her husband were now her respected colleagues.
Although the two did not exactly see eye to eye during the primaries (Okay, they couldn’t stand the sight of each other.), Obama is apparently ready to bury the hatchet. In fact, he’s so over the drama that his cabinet is filled with Clinton cronies.
Time to play six degrees of separation with the Clintons (if you can somehow tie this back to Kevin Bacon, I will be extremely impressed).
