de Boulle Hosts an Exclusive Look at Patek Philippe Timepieces

Houston, Texas—  Independent jeweler de Boulle hosted an exclusive look at the 2016 Patek Philippe Basel Collection of timepieces on Thursday, September 22, in their Showroom in the River Oaks District.

de Boulle guests saw 23 of the latest models, which have yet to hit the country. The Patek Philippe timepieces featured a broad selection of debuts including new complications, a model that celebrates the 20th anniversary of a bestseller and revisited classics that will delight connoisseurs and admirers of fine watchmaking. Millions of dollars of fine timepieces were on display.

Watch aficionados were awed when they saw the new Patek Philippe World Time Chronograph Ref. 5930. It combines the Genevan manufacture’s patented World Time mechanism with a proprietary self-winding chronograph movement that comes in a round white-gold case and a dial with a blue, manually guilloched center.

Another highlight was the Annual Calendar Ref. 5396 that very tastefully recalls the 20th anniversary of the patented Annual Calendar (its successful career began in Basel in 1996 with the Ref. 5035 that a few months later was voted Watch of the Year). Since then, the Annual Calendar has been crafted in 21 versions including ladies’ diamond-set models with mother-of-pearl dials, not to mention the numerous variations in platinum, yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold with eclectic dial designs. The new Ref. 5396 is model No. 22.

Lisa Jones, Vice President of Patek Philippe USA, and Joseph Vigorito, Sales Representative joined us for the evening from New York.

Guests enjoyed lite bites and champagne at the event, and then were escorted to a private dinner at the Grey House, nestled above the posh River Oaks District. English cuisine was prepared by Darren McGrady. He is the author of “Eating Royally,” and was the personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales and Princes’ William and Harry for fifteen years and has cooked for Presidents’ Ford, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush.
