Health care debate begins today

I watched the morning news shows today. The most interesting comment I heard was on Morning Joe, and it was that from Obama’s perspective, losing the case is not all bad. The White House can blame nine folks in black robes. FDR mastered the strategy during the New Deal. The Supreme Court is very likely to make a number of controversial decisions in the coming months, on such subjects as health care, affirmative action in college admissions, Voter ID, and redistricting, all of which could go against the left. If that occurs, the White House will have a lot to say about it at election time.

This case going before this terribly activist court is a sure thing, but Obama will come out clean on it: Moring Joe is right.

No, Obama won’t blame it on nine folks in black robes, he’ll blame it on five justices that weren’t appointed by Democrats. Attempts to vilify Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and Kennedy will not work however. FDR didn’t do very well when he squared off directly against the court with his “court packing” plan. There was strong opposition to that in both parties and the Democrats lost a lot of seats in 1938.

And properly so. This majority is looking at becoming the most activist political court majority in recent history.

Court packing was an abomination. Court bashing is fair game.

Did Maury Maverick, Texas’s own, file the bill in the House? The common story was that he hadn’t read it.

Texian, the backlash against affirmative action has been vicious since Obama’s election in 2008 and it’s likely that the Supreme Court is destroying all of the gains from the Civil Rights Movement.

Rosa Parks, Dr. and Mrs. King and others are rolling in their graves on what is happening here.

Willie, I support affirmative action for women and minorities, because they need it the most.

If SCOTUS overturns Obamacare, will the Tea Party be mad that an elitist, appointed judicial body overturned a law that was passed by the elected legislative branch?

“We must pass this bill in the dark of night under the cloud of suspicion so we can read it and find out what’s in it.” ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Democrats don’t have a clue why they can’t win elections.
Apparently the most humorous question of the day was: “Is the government trying to have it both ways? “Today you are arguing that the penalty is not a tax. Tomorrow you are going to be back and you will be arguing that the penalty is a tax,” Justice Samuel Alito said to Solicitor General Donald Verrilli.”
Since when did democrats not demand they have eveything both ways?

The people who will be the maddest will be the insurance cartel— their lobby is known as “America’s Health Insurance Plans” or AHIP—which thought it had just locked up 30 million new captive customers. They will be horrified if the Supremes order AHIP replacement in a few months.

There is no way out for the “disease care system” of such a divided nation (the U.S. is not really a “nation”; it is a multinational control grid on the verge of total and permanent breakdown) other than mass euthanasia for the elderly and benign neglect for the rapidly-growing permanent underclass.

This “triage” approach is the system Rep. Paul Ryan is hawking. And “hawking” is the right word because he wants some of the trillions he believes he will save from millions dying prematurely to be funneled to the Pentagon for new imperial operations (after all, they’ve been going so well so far) with the rest of it going to a new round of tax cuts for his political benefactors.

A five to four decision either way will not satisfy half of the population and that is more likely than six to three, either way.

67% of Americans say the individual mandate or the entire law must be overturned. That doesn’t matter to democrats who say ex-Speaker Pelosi was right to pass this law under the cover of darkness.
Democrats still can’t figure why they’re losing elections.

Kenneth, Obama will say that he tried to get health care for all Americans, but the GOP congress and the Supreme Court blocked it from happening.
