The Biggest Loser

Today Newt Gingrich weighed in on Nancy Pelosi. She is a big, fat loser. Referring to what can only be called Waterboardgate, Gingrich had this to say:

“She is a trivial politician, viciously using partisanship for the narrowest of purposes, and she dishonors the Congress by her behavior. Speaker Pelosi’s the big loser, because she either comes across as incompetent, or dishonest. Those are the only two defenses. The fact is, she either didn’t do her job, or she did do her job and she’s now afraid to tell the truth.”

Gingrich added that Pelosi is engaging in a “despicable, dishonest and vicious political effort” to cover her ass in a cover-your-ass move that would put all other cover-your-asses to shame. The former speaker is calling for an inquiry into the matter.

I agree that Pelosi really f*cked this one up. But I don’t see why Newt would want to openly challenge Pelosi to a Speaker Loser-Off. Government shutdowns, crybaby temper tantrums, ethics violations, and being tossed out by your own party doesn’t exactly make you a winner.

It was reported on MSNBC this morning that in 1984, with Ronald Reagan as President, Barry Goldwater said, “The CIA lied to Congress.”

The GOP, having had no luck going after Obama, continues to look for a way to become half-way relevant again.

But as was so wisely noted yesterday, if the CIA really did notify her that they were torturing prisoners, then Bush and Cheney are war criminals for ordering the torture.

Speaking of “Biggest Loser”, has anyone noticed how large Newt’s girth has become? This guy’s only exercise is to the feeding table. He’s cruising for the big one. Probably having to buy two seats on every flight he takes.

While I DO NOT LIKE PELOSI, as I have repeatedly stated, fair is fair, and she was tired and not sharp in her poor rambling misspeaks on this subject.

If she had spoke up in public at the time (2003, etc), she would have been breaking the law.

If she was really aware that these tactics were illegal and were used, or were going to be used, she should have addressed this to the administration.

She is in a no win situation.

    you cannot unring a bell.

She needs to read a prepared statement that chronologicly (sp) states everything, and not take questions.

I’m for fair. She is being lied about.

She screwed up enough without the falsehoods the Four Horsemen of the GOP are spreding.

Gee whiz, I wonder if Pelosi will ever recover from this terrible blow.
Molly Ivins once likened being criticized by Rush Limbaugh to being gummed by a newt. Pelosi has now been gummed by a Newt.

Any of you bright blubs understand that those who strive for positions of importance often get more than they bargained for once obtained? We are not privy to info that the Prez and Speaker of the House get dropped on them after taking the oath.
The CIA comes in and says this is what we are doing and this is why we are doing it; this is what we have obtained through out efforts. Think any of Obama’s crawfishing after taking office might have something to do with his not really having all the info beforehand? Does anyone think that the CIA just came in and told everyone what they weren’t doing? Like waterboarding? Don’t you think it is more reasonable to assume that the CIA told Pelosi that they were, indeed, waterboardinig, and explained the technique involved. Her credibility is shot. She’s becoming a liability. She always has been. The Democrats need to send her packing.

I heartily encourage the GOP to turn the 2010 elections into a referendum on the relative popularity of Obama/Pelosi vs. Gingrich/Rush/anyone else they can trot out.

Who said anything about the Republicans, Doc? I’m not pushing Newt or Rush. Just saying that Pelosi is the epitome of a slimy, dishonest pol and has become an embarrassment to her party. N’est-ce pas?

Let’s not forget that National Newt is now on his third wife and cheated on the first two. He even asked wife #1 for the ‘big D’ when she was lying in her hospital bed being treated for the ‘Big C.’ Oh, and Newt just became a Catholic because that makes it all okay now.

I thought crybaby temper tantrums, ethics violations, and being tossed out by your own party was that natural order for the Speakership. I mean, Speaker Wright, Speaker Foley, Newt, SOMEGUY who was Speaker for like 3 seconds before they gave Hassert the Gavel in honor of being so boring that no one was awake to object.

    I’m just sayin…

Newts’ probably not really a good one to talk about dishonest. Making a big song and dance about how awful it is that the President is screwing his intern … whilst also screwing your own intern at the same time hardly makes you a paragon of virtue.

If Barney Frank comes out and says Bernie Madoff has badly mismanaged financial matters entrusted to him, it would surely be the case that Barney would be a hypocrite.

It would also be the case that Barney would by correct about Madoff.

Very good point anonymous. I think the best conclusion from both your point and mine is that all politicians should stop coming out and trying to pretend they are moral or ethical role models for anyone.

    Again, I don’t like Pelosi.

She was tired and performed poorly in her explanations. She should make a read clarifyinf statement and then shut up.

Nute, and all are throwing up a red herring.

    She is not the story.

The Administration admitting that they illegally tortured, and that W signed off on it it are the stories, and if the cards fall on Pelosi being complicit, then take her down too.

    But firsat things first.

Make Cheney and 43, and Rum’s heads roll……

    then Pelosi if needed.

check this out: Rum leading W by the collar…..scripture….. the US HOLY WAR !

    Brilliant.

So who are the religious Zealots in the eyes of the world?

Did I here “Crusade” mentioned…….. yep W said it.

Only it’s about minerals (read: black gold, Texas Tea) and not souls.

Remember: mission accomplished? It was. Oil prices went thru the roof.

Praise God and pass the ammo.

Come on, PM … the real zealots of the world are the ones who cut off heads …burn down girl’s schools … shoot young people who fall in love … hide behind women and chidren … and blow up twin towers with thousands of innocent people inside.

There is no doubt that we are oil hungry and that many of the stupid moves we have made around the world with regards to oil have resulted in people hating us.

This being said, let’s not go overboard. Comparing our government, and the Judeo Christians who make up most of the population of the U.S., with the scum who pray for our eradication, and the governments who support such, is goofy.

And as far as Rummy putting Bible verses on the cover of secret briefing memo’s, I don’t believe a word of it. Crap like this floats around out there all the time. Where’s the verification? It’s going to have to be more than some lefty group reporting it. It hasn’t been too long ago that many on here were swearing up and down that Gov. Palin faked pregnancy to cover for daughter.

BO is a very competive messiah and he does not take to Nancy being so bossy and in charge like and blowing the cover off his management of the War on Terror which he now says is not war but negotiations. Even Biden has to shut up along with Hilarious with BO; oops and BO’s wife, too.
Naughty Nancy knows what waterboarding is. And, after 9-11 one did not think that one would kiss a terrorist but libs like to hope that the world thinks they do while somehow taking care of business. And, all this stallboarding is just getting Nancy attention while BO does his stuff. It deflects from the Socialist scrubbing we are enduring while making sure we swallow it. BO just can’t be in our face 7/24 or can he? So, while BO hovers, we tune in on poor (laff time) Nancy and her being soooo misunderstood while time goes by and nothing really changes in the liberal zoo. But time does change some things even with history repeating itself. For example, the Republicans will come back to power and screw up and then the Democrats will come back and so on. Keeps us absolute progressive and retarded.
Don’t even talk OIL; for we need it and will do about anything for it while not even digging for it here. For the love of country, we do many different things without really having love of country in mind. Yeah!
