The Best Little Whore in Texas

You know the 2010 primary is heating up when someone compares Republican moderates to hookers. And I think we all know who the moderate in this race is. Hint: It’s not Perry. Hint: It’s Kay Bailey. DAMMIT. I always give things away too soon. While Perry political consultant Dave Carney claims that his boss is all for welcoming new voters into the tent, these new inductees shouldn’t include sluts, whores, and other Democrats. OMG!

“[It] doesn’t mean you take your principles and throw them out the door and become a whorehouse and let anybody in who wants to come in, regardless,” Carney said.

That’s right, Kay. Take your siren song somewhere else, sweetheart! Next thing we know you’ll be in flagrante delicto with Arlen Specter and the party will be caught with its pants down.

Meanwhile, Charlie Cook of the Cook Political Report says he thinks that Kay Hussy Hutchison would be the stronger general election candidate but first she’d have to get through the primary, which is not the easiest thing for a call girl to do. “Kay Bailey Hutchison is a very rational, normal, well-adjusted person,” he said. “I’m just not sure any degree of moderation substantively or stylistically is necessarily a good thing in a Republican primary in Texas.”

Wow. If Kay’s the “well-adjusted” one in this race, what does that make Perry?

“I don’t think you could get far enough off the highway on the right-hand side to get to Rick Perry’s right,” Cook said. “Is there anything too wacky that he wouldn’t say to win that primary?”

Back off, man. That’s our governor.

Texas Monthly just don’t like Republicans…and especially Republican woman like Kay Hutchison…right?

Yep…liberal Democrats need to be kept out of the tent…and kicked back into a dark cellar.

And one of the biggest whores in my part of Texas…is Les Simpson…publisher of the Amarillo Globe News…who sucks up to anyone with power or money.

I think the Republican tent will undergo a massive growth spurt in the primary, when voters cross over to toss Perry out of office. And not even a new voter ID bill can stop them.

wowee it so does appear that if folk are not liberal assholes then they are Republican whores or whoremasters. such eloquence really has impact on nothing. see what I mean. now, what really bugs folk is whether you sign on to BS and liberalism or not. and it looks like the whole world is not in agreement and / or condescending to the written or spoken claptrap of liberals.
and so the world spins until the Republicans rightfully reclaim Washington. and, they will. so vent it out and then wash it out and say it with vigor but do leave off the vileness. it’s really not catchy but rather uncool like. just my opion and that of others so it leaves those who want to be themselves just that. now, both of these politicos are not really the chosen ones for they don’t have the mustard to do what is right but that does not seem to count much with party these days for it is all about power and not Americans.

Now that is a classic reply! Liberals who label and whine and try to block others who disagree from their views are so touchy feely and sensitive and have mental problems of their own while calling others names to deflect from their own lackings. Say something relevant or continue being yourself (egad) when remarking upon what you just don’t want to read. You know you are getting somewhere when others protest your being.

    well put, LZ.

i for one will be voting republican come next spring. won’t be the first time i’ve crossed for a primary. but this one is trickier, since i have yet to identify the candidate who either:

    * will threaten the establishment, or
    * isn’t batshit crazy.

at least in 2000 i could vote for mccain, who fit both those criteria (well close enough, at least for about 3 months).

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . . oh excuse me, was this another ITP post in which Eileen was blabbing on about how she is once again incensed about someone speaking out and taking a conservative position and criticizing libs?

Let’s see, a few days ago she was telling us how Newt is a Big Loser for daring to criticize Pelosi (still waiting for anyone to give counterarguments to rebut Newt’s spot on assessment of Pelosi). That was followed by Eileen’s heartstopping post in which she opined that the Republican Party conference call was kind of boring. That was followed by Eileen’s scholarly dissection of Liz Cheney’s insights into the policies of the Obama administration (”She’s the spitting image of the former vice president, save for the pristine curled-under bangs which, while acceptable for 12-year-old girls, are inappropriate in a 40-something woman”). Here is an entertaining bit of Liz Cheney chewing up some hapless MSLSD moonbat:

    http://www.redstate.com/moe_lane/2009/04/25/liz-cheney-breaks-nora-odonnell-on-torture-discussion/

Next, we have Eileen wagging her finger at some group called the Judicial Confirmation Network about how inept their production values are in making a commercial opposing liberal Supreme Court nominees. You got me there Eileen. Democrats may be fools on public policy but they have stagecraft down to a science:

    http://www.nypost.com/photos/galleries/news/nationalnews/pp_20080828_obama_stage/photo01.htm

Finally we have some spokeperson for Rick Perry trash talking moderates and liberals. Wow.

No Eileen bashing, please. She’s one of the wittiest people I’ve come across … and her demented sense of humor cracks me up.
I don’t always agree with her, but I do like her style.

Now for subject at hand … Mr. Cook obviously knows nothing about KBH’s temper. I understand she makes McCain look like a cherubic choir boy.

I know it is popular to bash the two Repub candidates for the next run at gov, but when are we going to start discussing who the Dem’s are going to throw in the fray? All the talk of the Dem’s resurgence is meaningless here in Texas unless a viable candidate is presented.

Schieffer holds a “get to know me” deal at Scholz’s and, as far as I know, no one from TM attended …or at least no one has commented.

And once again Anonymous you seem to have confused this blog with a serious and balanced political commentary. I had no idea you were such a fan of the Fairness Doctrine. Unfortunately we here are far too enamoured of our partisan rants to give up the freedom to say what we like.

    Reply »

    texun Reply:

I’m finally making some sense of LZ, through deconstruction of her comments.
“unfairness is prevalent” is obviously a reference to a cloudy day. So, LZ is depressed by the weather. “serious and balanced” is a reference to the fictional character, Spock, so LZ is a Trekie, a depressed Trekie. “forest” is an encoded reference to the B-Movie star Preston Forrest (or to Steve Forest, another B-actor), whom LZ apparently idolized and did not find depressing. Finally, “trees” is actually a phonetic rendering of the Russian word for “three.”
What all of this adds up to is that LZ would not be depressed had the actor, who might have given a serious and balanced characterization of Spock, not disappeared in Russia on a cloudy day.
It all makes sense, if you look at it the right way. It’s time for the lege to do something about it!

Let’s see, we have the GOP hard-core claiming that Kay is a RINO whose not-so-secret plan is to win the primary with Democrat crossover votes as the victory margin.

Meanwhile, we have self-identified non-GOP posters claiming they will indeed vote for Kay in the GOP primary.

So, uh, doesn’t that kind of vindicate what the hard-core GOP folks are saying…

Actually, they’re not really tea leaves. It’s tiny bits of cork in the bottom of my wine glass, but they basically do the same thing…..

    texun Reply:

I get the same reading from coffee grounds. Actually, it’s more like snatching defeat from the jaws of defeat because the Democratic state party organization lacks the organizational capacity to help reasonably strong aspirants win elections. The last big-time repeat winner was Lloyd Bentsen, who had enough bucks and savvy to run his own campaigns.
The size and complexity of the state present problems. How does a candidate attain sufficient state-wide name recognition? By running again, like John Sharpe. By spending enough money? By appearing at repeated small-audience functions with local hosts? It’s an uphill fight.

Make up your mind. In you previous post, you start off saying:

“No Eileen bashing, please. . . I don’t always agree with her, but I do like her style.”

Then you basically make the same complaint about Eileen’s posts that I make:

“I know it is popular to bash the two Repub candidates for the next run at gov, but when are we going to start discussing who the Dem’s are going to throw in the fray?”

The answer to that question is : Don’t hold your breath.

    Jimbo says:

“And once again Anonymous you seem to have confused this blog with a serious and balanced political commentary. I had no idea you were such a fan of the Fairness Doctrine.”

And once again you are confused about my purpose in commenting. I am a free market guy and if a conservative bashing blog under the auspices of a magazine that is supposed to be representative of what Texas stands for can succeed, it is not for me to advocate that the government tell it what to say or do. The government does not need to ensure balance. I am the balance.

Texas Monthly isn’t supposed to be representative of anything or anyone as far as I know. This blog has even fewer responsibilities than that.
