Travel + Leisure’s 101 Places Every Traveler Should Know: Which Texas Destination(s) Made the Cut?

In the November 2012 issue of Travel + Leisure, the magazine’s editors have compiled a list of 101 places around the world that they say “define the traveler’s core curriculum right now.” One Texas destination has made the list. Can you guess what it is?

…recognize this nondescript brick building?

It’s the meditative Rothko Chapel, in Houston, and it’s #81 on T+L’s list. Can you scratch it off your own bucket list? Would you add any other Texas landmark(s) to a world traveler’s itinerary?

Though the Rothko Chapel did make my list of the 10 works of art you must see in Texas (scroll down to the 5th image), if I was forced to pick a single Texas destination to visit, it might be this one instead.
