Who would have guessed? This sports bar, with sister ships in Austin and Round Rock, not only has fabulous burgers (the Chop-House was number 12 on TM’s 2009 best burger list) but also dishes up some of the best Mexican food we’ve had in a city filled with Mexican restaurants. Order this to go: Green chile enchiladas, stuffed with enough shredded beef and poblanos to please the heartiest eater, came with a rich, red poblano-and-guajillo sauce and reheated easily. The trio of salsa, guacamole, and queso with a big bag of chips is the only side you really need. Pro tip: Family meals (like the spatchcocked roast chicken with Sicilian sauce), margarita kits, the opportunity to sponsor a Comfort Food Care Package for those in need, and a seamless and touchless order-to-go process make this place stand out for its pandemic agility.
