I just checked the Bryan-College Station Eagle Web site, and there is no news about the presidential search committee following the first day of a two-day meeting of the Board of Regents. Doug Slack, chair of the presidential selection committee, was scheduled to meet with the regents in executive session. He told the Eagle that he planned “to reiterate to the panel the search committee’s desire to meet and review any additional candidates who are being considered by regents. Doing so, he said, would provide the regents with another set of evaluations with which to review the candidates.” (The quote is from the Eagle’s story on Thursday, not from Slack.)

Friday’s meeting will determine whether the regents will name a presidential finalist or continue the search, and what the faculty’s role in the selection process will be.
