Isn’t it finally time that someone said the obvious: The number of news stories about Steve Stockman are wildly out of proportion to his importance (or lack thereof). The latest example is a story in the Dallas Morning News that Cornyn has won the endorsement of the NRA. The headline? “Coup for Cornyn.” This is a non-story, and it certainly doesn’t merit that headline, even if Stockman is a strong advocate of gun rights. There is no coup here.
If there was a Republican primary for the U.S. Senate on Mars, Stockman couldn’t win it. Cornyn will mop the floor with him.
