Pardon me for asking, but … where’s Wendy Davis? She did go to Washington to raise money, but she has not been seen much on the campaign trail. Some Democratic strategists of my acquaintance are concerned by the slow start and lack of visiibility or message in the Davis campaign.

Greg Abbott, on the other hand, has been out and about since the summer and has taken the initiative in rolling out his proposals. At some point, Davis needs to start acting like a candidate. One of the problems the Davis campaign is going to face is a too-many-cooks problem among Democratic strategists. The Davis campaign’s biggest asset is Davis herself. They need to get her off the bench and onto the playing field.
