Texas Wesleyan University’s reputation for producing a high number of skilled bilingual teachers has always made the school proud. In addition to its fine education programs, TWU has 21 other majors, among which are international business administration, art, and paralegal studies.
TWU’s sports teams compete in the NAIA and the Red River Athletic Conference. The school’s table tennis team has won the national championship every year since 2002 and continues to excel. TWU also sponsors intramural sports programs, one of which is a poker league. Various groups and clubs allow the school’s 1,600 students to pursue a wide range of interests and hobbies, and many Greek organizations are represented on campus. Renovations to the campus gymnasium and the completion of the Baker Building, which houses a community center, provide students with additional extracurricular space.
TWU’s 74-acre urban campus is just five minutes from downtown Fort Worth. Undergraduates often become in-volved in service projects like the annual Cowtown Brush Up, which sends students into neighboring areas to help with painting, yard cleanup, and other beautification tasks. When they want to relax, students head to live music venues like the Aardvark.
