Undergraduate Enrollment

The College of St. Thomas More is a small liberal arts college in the Roman Catholic intellectual tradition. Founded in 1987, the college provides a unique liberal education in a truly intimate environment—50 undergraduates make up the student body. Organized around a single curriculum, the college’s academic program requires students to read the great books in the disciplines of philosophy, theology, and literature and to study classical languages under the guidance of experienced teachers. The curriculum is supplemented by study in Rome, Oxford, and Greece, where students immerse themselves in each locale and take classes on their cultural and intellectual history. The college’s annual lecture series hosts distinguished speakers and attracts students and Dallas—Fort Worth locals alike.

Originally classes were held in public buildings; in 1985 the existing 1.78-acre campus was established. The institution’s buildings encompass about one square block in the college district on the west side of Fort Worth. A new chapel was completed in 2008, and construction is set to begin on a new library in fall 2009.

Most of the students live on campus, where mass is offered daily and followed by a college lunch. St. Thomas More also encourages its students to explore the neighboring museums and other cultural attractions in Fort Worth and nearby Dallas as a way to enrich their education.
