From its modern hilltop campus to its rigorous academics, Trinity University earns rave reviews from all quarters. Many of its buildings have panoramic views of the San Antonio cityscape, yet the bubbling fountains, green lawns, and native live oak trees add serenity to the 117-acre campus. Trinity’s 2,400 undergraduates choose from 38 majors and 50 minors in the liberal arts and professional disciplines, and the university offers students a unique blend of opportunities and resources. The school’s business administration, engineering science, and English programs are among the most popular. Study-abroad, internships, and research projects are also popular hands-on programs that the majority of Trinity students take advantage of.
More than 130 social, service, political, academic, spiritual, and recreational student organizations are available. In addition, various dramatic and musical performances, sporting events, festivals, and a well-regarded lecture series attract both students and San Antonians. Every Wednesday afternoon students and faculty gather for Nacho Hour, to mingle and socialize.
Trinity undergraduates spend their first three years living in one of 16 suite-style residence halls. All offer semiprivate bathrooms, housekeeping service, and wireless Internet access. (CosmoGIRL! magazine recently voted Trinity’s dorms among the nicest in the country.)
Students spend free time visiting the city’s historic missions or combing the River Walk, San Antonio’s number one tourist destination. Many find their way to a restaurant just blocks from campus that serves what the Food Network describes as “the best tacos in America. ”Others prefer to take on “the Macho” at Chris Madrid’s, one of 15 Burgers to Try Before You Die, according to AOL City Guide. There’s also Trinity Night at the Spurs, a program that allows students to catch San Antonio’s hometown team on the cheap.
