McCain, the Silver Maverick, has chosen an Iron Maverick to run the last, but probably most poignant, leg of his presidential campaign with as his vice-presidential partner.
An Alaskan governor, an Annie Oakley of the far American Northwest, who has no difficulty in going toe-to-toe (or head-to-head) with the Big Boys - the Corporate Talking Heads of Oil Land or Senators (and their power brokering cronies) who want to push pork barreling, earmarked Bridges to Nowhere (expensive private planes and unnecessary chefs) down the throats of unsuspecting Taxpayers. She practiced Executive Abstinence. She just said, “NO” !

After reading Skip’s article about the four boys from Iraan I was left wondering why would we think this act of violence so shocking? It was the first free from football Friday night for these guys. They were used to beating their opponents senseless on the football field every Friday night. They were praised for hitting hard. What’s the difference?? I am not surprised that they found another violent activity.

If electricity deregulation is so good for me, why don’t I feel any better?
Those of you in parts of the state that are getting your electricity from a municipally or coop owned generating facility can’t relate to this, but those of you from Houston, through East Texas, up to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and all points in between certainly can.
We’re all tired of hearing our elected officials tell us that deregulation is working. The rates I am paying rank me right up there with New York and New Jersey. Something is wrong. It is not working for me. How about you?
