Your pic Lawmakers Diverty Gas Tax Revenues

Legislators Must Stop Diverting Revenues from the Gasoline Tax
It may be old news, but that does NOT mean it’s the right thing to do! The gasoline tax was created and implemented to provide the revenue needed to build and maintain our roadways. Unfortunately, as is done with many such ’funds’, the legislature is permitted to move around the revenue to other interests. It is common knowledge that lawmakers are diverting 40 percent of the revenue received from our gasoline tax, which also has been frozen for at least the past decade. Where does it go?

Blackeyed Pea Festival Athens Texas

posted in Willie Nelson [more from this topic] by carolyn_qamy on Wednesday, July 02, 2008 @ 09:15:44 CDT

My daughter, a friend of hers and I went to the black-eyed pea festival in Athens, Texas back in the late 70’s. Being a recent divorcee and a Willie Nelson fan, I meandered out onto the football field by myself and left the girls in the stand. I squeezed my way through the crowd of youngsters on the football field lying around smoking who knows what, like yea, and made my way to the flat bed trailer where Willie and the band were. When he tossed his sweaty handkerchief out over the fence I caught it dead center. Some gal standing next to me had it by the corner. A guy standing behind me whispered in my ear, "If I were you lady I’d grab that hankie and I’d take off ’cuz you have a good hold of it." That’s exactly what I did. I yanked that handkerchief and put it in my pocket. That gal looked at me and turned the other way. For years I had that hankie hanging on a candelabra over my bed. For real man!
