There are still a few places left at the sneak preview of the dinner party that Lenoir restaurant is throwing at the James Beard House in New York later this month. The tiny, shabby-chic dining venue on South First has been invited to prepare a dinner at the prestigious culinary organization’s headquarters in New York, an honor for any restaurant.
The preview will happen this Sunday, September 8, at 6:30. Seven courses will be served, with paired wines. Dining will start in the backyard wine garden with canapés, bubbles, and live music, then move inside.
Here are a few highlights from co-owners and chefs Todd Duplechan and Jessica Maher’s menu: mushroom panisse with pickled-garlic aïoli (paired with Brundlmayer Brut Rosé NV); soft-shelled crayfish with wild boar larb, rice-herb salad, and egg crêpe (paired with Muelenhof Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spälese Alte Reben 2012); and roasted antelope with seared liver, turnip cake, and radish-onion sofrito (paired with Domain des Lises Crozes-Hermitage 2011).
If this sounds like your thing, contact the restaurant for tickets, which are $200 plus tax (wine and gratuity included). Reservations are required and seats are limited to 34 people.
The dinner in New York City is September 21; please inquire with the restaurant about discounted tickets for it.
