Having claimed Readers’ Favorite in DFW.com’s 2011 Battle of the Burgers, this tiny joint will likely be even more crowded than before. Place your order at the window and then grab one of the few tables inside or an umbrella-shaded picnic table outside. From there you can wolf down your favorite burger (there are fifteen varieties, from the chili burger to the Project X, with Tabasco, grilled onions, jalapeños, and cheddar cheese) or try a hot dog, the fried chicken, or a Frito pie.

The winner of last year’s DFW.com Burger Battle has made a move to Westcliff and the crowds have followed. The wait to place your order can be considerable, but you won’t mind when you get your catfish basket with french fries, hush puppies, and above-average tartar sauce or your enormous chicken-fried steak smothered with mighty fine cream gravy. BYOB.
