Sushi

(From September 2009) The several-month-old restaurant in Midtown is still something of an unknown commodity, and the tasteful room evolves into a clublike scene in the wee hours. First-time visitors might want to take advantage of happy hour at the bar (5 to 7 during the week and all day Sunday) and try the quick-seared bonito sashimi or a Spicy Mama roll (unagi and cucumber inside and spicy tuna on top, drizzled with chile oil). The dishes are as pristine as they are beautiful. Bar.

Japanese /
Sushi

(From September 2008) We escaped the assault of overdevelopment on FM 1960, ducking into this contemporary oasis done in serene earth tones and accented with bamboo and fountains. Splendid skewers of beef from the robata and miso soup with wild mushrooms and salmon refreshed our spirits. The sushi sampler was top-quality (if predictable). From the entrée list, we picked a delicious crispy grouper filet, breaded and fried, with a sweet chile sauce. Bar.
