If you’re looking for some good ’cue, fly on into the Hard Eight in Stephenville. Literally. You can pilot your plane to the local airport, where Hard Eight keeps designated golf carts that you may use to transport yourself to the restaurant. Just follow your nose. Once there, select your meat from the pit (brisket, sausage, ribs, pork chops), then go inside and pick out your sides (all the usuals, plus jalapeño sweet corn, corn bread salad, and mac and cheese). If you’re able, check out the pies and cobblers for dessert. Large covered porches allow for sipping a cool one and watching the sunset when weather permits. Beer.
