New American

(From September 2010) Tucked into a courtyard oasis, this intimate Southwestern bistro continues to delight with creative cuisine. We began with warm goat cheese croquettes—creamy, tangy, and crunchy all at once—and cool strawberry gazpacho, intriguing in its blend of sweet fruit and earthy seasonings. We had nothing but raves for the wild game meatloaf, a mix of ground buffalo, elk, and beef, which was baked, seared, topped with a barbecue salsa, and accompanied by red chile mashed potatoes. Also notable was the tilapia in a banana leaf with jalapeño cornbread stuffing and a pineapple–green chile salsa. Bliss-inducing coconut cake completed the evening. Bar.
