The Texas Association of Homes and Services (TAHSA) recently awarded Querencia at Barton Creek staff member, Nelda Rivas, the Environmental Service Award for her work as director of environmental services at Querencia.  The announcement was made by Ross Dickmann, executive director for Querencia

“The entire staff at Querencia is very proud of Nelda and this accomplishment she so greatly deserves”, said Dickmann.  “Nelda is an outstanding leader, mentor and subject matter expert.  She has a genuine passion for the well being of others and we are lucky to have her as part of our team.”

As part of her role as director for environmental services, Rivas lead a fund raiser for aid supplies during the Haiti earthquake crisis, sponsored a winter coat drive for the less fortunate and has led a charge in providing assistance to socially and economically disadvantaged nursing homes and senior recreation centers in Austin.  Rivas will be formally recognized at the annual TASHA conference in Austin this spring.
