Two great funk and jazz icons Ronnie Laws and Tom Browne perform before the Carver audience! Known for their signature songs from back in the day—Browne’s “Funkin’ For Jamaica” and Laws’ “Always There” will ignite memory lane of how Jazz-Funk fusion all began. Over their 30-year careers, Ronnie and Tom have played with some of the biggest acts in the business including Quincy Jones, Earth Wind & Fire, Mariah Carey, and Sister Sledge. Saxophonist Ronnie Laws is one of the great figures in contemporary music. A master at fusing the more accessible harmonies of jazz with the beats and structures of R&B and soul music, Laws helped create the blueprint for modern contemporary jazz. Trumpeter Tom Browne re-emerged in a solid recording career in 1994, releasing a series of recordings entitled "Mo’ Jamaica Funk." which let the listening audience know that Browne is doing well and playing better than ever! Time: 8:00 p.m. Location: Jo Long Theatre Price: $31.00
