The Texas Medal of Arts Awards is a biennial event hosted by the Texas Cultural Trust that spotlights and celebrates Texans who have achieved greatness through their creative talents, as well as those whose generosity has opened doors to artistic opportunity for Texans of all ages. The TMA Awards, co-chaired by Kelli Blanton and Marita Fairbanks, will honor legendary artists, entertainers and arts patrons with a series of events held in Austin on March 4th and 5th, 2013. Past awards recipients include Laura Bush, Walter Cronkite, Tommy Lee Jones, Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Robert Rauschenberg and ZZ Top, among many others.
