Querencia at Barton Creek senior living community recently welcomed Linda Armstrong Kelly, author and mother of seven-time Tour De France champion Lance Armstrong. More than 50 residents gathered to hear her compelling story of the highs and lows of being a single mother while raising one of the best athletes in the world. After the presentation, she answered questions from the audience and signed copies of her book, “No Mountain High Enough.”
“Linda has such a loving and energetic spirit that is contagious to all who meet her,” said Leslie Dominguez, director of sales and marketing at Querencia. “Our residents and guests enjoyed her presentation and it was an honor to have the opportunity to host her.”
Armstrong Kelly told first hand her experience raising Lance while earning her GED and becoming a successful marketing executive. She discussed Lance’s ordeal with cancer, and how that lead to her passion and ongoing philanthropic work for cancer research. A grandmother of 10, she credits her success to working hard and always being willing to go that extra mile.
