Lutheran Social Services (LSS) has named Patrick Wills as executive chef for The Village at Gleannloch Farms, the Lutheran-sponsored community for active adults ages 62 and up. Kathy Johanns, executive director for the not-for-profit community, made the recent announcement.
“We are excited to have such a fabulous and highly experienced chef on our team,” said Johanns. “The health and happiness of our residents is our main priority and Chef Patrick brings a wide variety of healthy and delicious meals to delight them every day.”
Wills is a graduate of the Culinary Arts Institute of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. Following graduation, Wills was a military occupational specialist in advanced cooking for the Army National Guard. From there, he served aboard the Delta Queen Steamboat where he was a Sous Chef for the cruise ship. Wills spent the next eight years working at country and golf clubs in Baton Rouge before moving to Houston in 2004.
Wills is certified in sanitation, nutrition, and restaurant management. He was named Employer of the Year in 2007 for his work at the Champions Golf Club. He has received various awards from the Dallas Chefs Invitational, Baton Rouge Culinary Event, and the Austin Culinary Classic.
