ST. PATRICK’S DAY AT ISLE AT WATERCREST–MANSFIELD

posted in general [more from this topic] anonymously on Monday, March 19th 2012 at 11:51 AM.

Isle
at Watercrest–Mansfield, the stand-alone assisted living, memory care, skilled
nursing and rehabilitation community, was decked out in green for a St.
Patrick’s Day event that included a traditional Irish dinner and dessert,
musical entertainment and an art sale benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association.

“St. Patrick’s Day is always a fun
holiday to celebrate at Isle at Watercrest,” said Teresa Wilks, director of
referral development, Isle at Watercrest–Mansfield. “Our guests enjoyed a
delicious dinner and entertainment by a resident’s grandson who played classic
piano tunes.”

The community also displayed and sold
water color paintings that memory care and assisted living residents had
painted. The proceeds from the sold artwork went to the Alzheimer’s
Association.

“This is part of the ‘Memories in the
Making’ program,” said Cindy Frazee, resident programs manager, Isle at
Watercrest–Mansfield. “Residents of Isle at Watercrest-Mansfield who suffer from
Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia use water color paint to recall
precious memories. This program was created by the Alzheimer’s
Association who has helped train our professional staff to help each person
express their feelings and emotions through art.”
