The well-known and highly respected orthopedic physician Dr. John Barrington from Texas Health Plano recently lectured on rapid recovery after joint replacement to members of The Legacy at Willow Bend, many of whom have been patients of his.
“Staying active throughout your life is the best thing you can do for your joints even after joint replacement surgery,” said Dr. Barrington. “With the use of The Legacy state-of-the-art fitness center and with the physical therapy available to you here at The Legacy at Willow Bend Rehabilitation Center, a quick recovery after joint replacement surgery is very possible!”
Dr. Barrington joined the Texas Center for Joint Replacement staff in August 2006 and is also the Director of the Joint Institute at Plano Presbyterian Hospital. His surgical specialties include knee replacement and hip replacement through both revision surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
“It was an honor to welcome Dr. Barrington to The Legacy,” said Lana Van Giesen, executive director, The Legacy at Willow Bend. “He has treated many of our members and staff, and we appreciate him taking the time to speak with us.”
Dr. Barrington is also active in charity organizations that offer free medical treatment to citizens of poor countries throughout the world. He visits Latin American countries twice a year to help those less fortunate by providing orthopedic surgery.
