Chipotle-Cherry Barbecue Sauce

1/2 cup cherry preserves  or jelly

1 cup ketchup

2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoons lemon jest

1 canned chipotle chiles in adobo, minced, plus 1 tablespoon adobo sauce from can

1 teaspoon liquid smoke

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teasppon unsweetened cocco powder

Bring all ingredients to a simmer in a medium sauce pan, stirring often for 10 minutes.  Season with salt and pepper.  Can be made up to 1 week ahead.  Cover tightly and refrigerate.
