Oreo Balls 2 Ways

8 ozs. softened cream cheese or whipped cream cheese

18 ozs. pkg. Oreo cookies crushed (crush  entire cookie- don’t remove filling

2 c. semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips 

1 T. shortening

 

Mix cream cheese with electric mixer until fluffy. Add crushed Oreos - beat on high until well mixed. Chill at least 2 hours i freezer. Then roll Oreo cookie mix into ½” to 1” balls .

Melt chocolate chips ñ  shortening with a double boiler or in the microwave.

Dip  balls completely into melted chocolate using tongs or a toothpick.

Put on wax paper. After balls harden- keep them in refrigerator.

Makes about 3 or 4 dozen Oreo Balls- depending on size.

 Note ~ Can use White chocolate chips also

Hj’s Way

Mix  8ozs. cream cheese with 3 sleeves of regular oreo cookies crushed well beaten ñ blended ñ roll into balls ñ roll in powder sugar –place on wax paper on a plate ñ chill well.

Notes~ Can roll in crushed nuts of choice BEFORE rolling in the powder sugar or after.

Or /and  after rolling balls  roll in crushed nuts with Heath Toffee bits-OH MY GOLLY  these are deliciously Fattening!

 Great for Xmas gifts in a can.
