¾ c. sugar

2 c. flour

½ lb. or 2 sticks butter

¼ lb. or ½ c. vegetable shortening (Crisco

1 tsp. gr. cinnamon

2 tsp. anise water is (¼ c. water with 2 T. anise seed

 

Mix flour ñ sugar together –cut in butter ñ shortening well –adding cinnamon ñ anise water mixture . If dough too sticky-add more flour until dough doesn’t stick to the bowl.

Shape into ball about the size of a quarter.

Bake 375 ° F. 15 to 20 minutes. While still hot –roll into cinnamon ñ mixture of 1 cup sugar with 2 to 3 teaspoons of cinnamon
