Lemon Drizzle Cake

Ingredients

  • 1lemon cake mix
  • 1 can lemon pie filling
  • 1 can cream cheese frosting
  • 2- 9 inch cake pans

  • I took one Lemon Cake Mix and made it according to the box intructions, except for the water. I added half a can of lemon pie filling to the cake mix , reserve the rest. Then enough water to make a thick batter. I mixed this very well. Then poured into 2-9 inch cake pans that had been greased and floured. Cook until done and cool.
  • Take the rest of the pie filling and spread on the tops of both cakes making it very smooth.
  • Take 1 can of cream cheese frosting and remove the tin foil seal and warm frosting just enough so it can be drizzled on the cake with it running down the sides of the stacked two layer cake. This looks great and tastes very good! I garnished with a sugar coated lemon slice pinwheel.
