Christmas Bacon

posted in breakfast [more from this topic] by sami on Sunday, December 19th 2010 at 09:50 AM.

thick cut bacon

brown sugar

preheat over to 375.  Place bacon on rack in a baking sheet with sides.  I use tin foil that I have wrinkled so the grease fall into it.   Put 1 teaspoon brown sugar on the top of each side of bacon andrub it in.  Bake for 35 minutes or until crisp.

tagged: i have heard of christmas bacon for a long time but did not fix it until this morning. it is really good..the brown sugar melts on the bacon and leaves it caramelize. oh so good.

Hey Sami~ Happy Holidays to U n YOURS.

They also call it "candied bacon" ~ using 8 "smoked" bacon slices (sliced very thin from a fresh slab of bacon with a slicer

4 T. light brown sugar

1 pinch cayenne pepper

YOUR right- no matter what it is called it is de- lic-ious.

Try adding some pineapple juice to the brown sugar n rubbing it to both sides of the bacon - with or without -adding the cayenne pepper. That is good also!
