Butter Poached Aspargus

1 3/4 pound mixed aspargus (green and white)

3 tablespoons Kosher slt

3 tablespoons sugar

1 cup melted butter

1 up olive oit

3 garlic cloves

Put aspargus on a baking rack set on a baking pan.  Sprinkle aspargus all over with salt and sugar (coat all sides) and let set 15 minutes.  Then brush off the salt and sugar using a damp paper towels.  Place in large skillet and cover the butter and oil.  Add the garlic.  Cook over medium heat, barely to a simmer and braise for 10-15 minutes until tender when pieced with fork.

tagged: i found this recipe this week on the another food site. i fixed it last night and it is truly out of this world. i just used green aspargus.

I forgot to add to the recipe that the asparagus should be the ones with the thick stalks...not the thin ones. I also misspelled asparagus several times...sorry about that. Have a great holiday.
