Creamed Gravy ñ Chicken Fried Bacon

~Bacon

1 lb. thick sliced bacon cut in half

1 egg

1/2 c. milk (or cream or half ñ half

1/2 c. flour

spices  optional

oil for frying

 

~Creamed Gravy

3 T. drippings from bacon or 3 T. butter

3 T. flour

2 c. milk

2 T. heavy whipping cream

salt ñ pepper  heavy on the pepper if U like

garlic granular sprinkle a little to UR taste

Bacon~

Mix egg ñ milk by whisking well

Place flour in another bowl - season to taste-garlic granular- pepper, salt- Cajun – lemon zest ñ whatever seasoning  U like or no seasonings.

Double dip bacon - first in egg mixture- next into- flour ñ  repeat.

Fry in oil until golden brown.

Serve with cream gravy for dipping- also good served with steak.

Creamed Gravy~

Using a skillet heat drippings or butter - medium high heat. Whisk in flour until well blended- cook medium heat 2 to 3 minutes-till bubbly. Remove from heat ñ gradually add milk whisking constantly- return to heat ñ whisk until gravy thickens. Whisk in cream- salt ñ pepper.
