you can swap out the english peas for several things including blackeye peas, cubed could work as well.
i have seen this made so many different ways, i used, to make this years ago and most of the ingredients can be optional according to your taste. ham, whole kernal corn and also macaroni. dont limit yourself come up with a new version to please yourself.
