I, too, remember the same George Bush that Skip talks about. His office was next door and it was sparse.
I, too, hope all will give him a second chance. It is part of our American fabric and I hope he earns it.
He tried but was unwilling to take out cabinet level advisors who were on the wrong track. That is something that will haunt him. Not a good management trait.

Robin--
Did you even read the story?? Skip mentioned several positive contributions that Bush has made. The only "negatives" Skip brought up were those that many detractors (and supporters) have pointed out (that’s called reporting).
Simply because you don’t agree with those points, doesn’t make the author "self-serving".
My suggestion is that you work with other Republicans to make conservatism palatable to Americans once again---Bush’s 68% disapproval ratings aren’t due to biased reporting, but to reactions of the American public to Bush’s two terms as president. You can spend your time bashing Obama if you want, but wouldn’t you rather work hard to improve the pool of candidates from which your party can choose? Move on....

President Bush did exactly what he was expected to do: be a leader of these United States. Your attempt to negate his accomplishments are trite and self-serving. Yes, he made a few mistakes. However, he made the United States safer by his policies and procedures. If you think this obama guy will do better, I feel sorry for you.
