You have alot of nerve. where do you come up with such stories, that was so believable it sent all those innocent people to prison. Your the only witch flying around on a broom. Thank goodness for my awesome God above, he will handle up on you and the Smith County bunch. When the final word is said, he will make sure that justice prevails and the sentence will be handed down to those involved in purposely destroying innocent lives. I promise you these kids will come forward and tell the truth about all of this and my God have mercy on your souls.

To Kidsrock: You are very naive if you believe what you are saying. I worked for CPS for many years, and yes, kids do lie sometimes. They can easily be manipulated (by well meaning and not so well meaning adults) to say things that aren’t true. There is a huge problem related to your contention that kids don’t lie relating to this case. There were multiple prior interviews where the children denied the abuse (of course Bingham and Skeen have made sure the videos were destroyed). Even without the videos there has been testimony to this effect. So, my question for you is: In which interview were the kids telling the truth. Since there stories were inconsistent they had to be lying at one time. But, that can’t be if kids don’t lie.

I would encourage anyone interest in this case to go to the website for the attorney who is handling Kelly’s appeal: http://jamesvolberding.com. He lists something like 40 points of error that are the basis of the appeal. It is incredible the lengths Judge Jack Skeen, Jr. went to to make sure the DA’s office won this very weak case. Skeen is a dishonest and unethical person and has no business being a judge. He just announced his bid for reelection. Someone has actually had the courage to run against him in the primary. This takes a lot of courage because they are not just running against Skeen but are going up agains the entire corrupt Smith County politcal machine, of which Skeen is the head. You can look up the Houston Chronicle articles from 2000 where they profiled the unethical behavior in the Smith County DA’s office when Skeen was the DA. The DA’s office then, as now, would do anything to win. Withholding evidence, making undisclosed deals with jailhouse snitches, knowing allowing perjured testimony, etc. Skeen was appointed to the bench to fill a vacancy. He hasn’t had an opponent until now. As a judge he thinks it is his job to make sure the DA’s office wins, no matter what. If you look at the points of error on the website noted above you will see he has no regard for the law and does whatever is necessary to make sure the DA’s office wins. In the Kelly case he made up an exception to the hearsay rule that doesn’t exist, allowed people who were not experts to give opinions as expert witnesses and just completely ignored the law in many other ways. His bias in this case, as it often is, was painfully obvious. He makes little attempt to hide his bias. Its been said that he still runs the DA’s office. I have my doubts that Matt Bingham is capable of running anything so that may be true. By the way, Bingham is Skeens protege and is just as dishonest and unethical as he is. I don’t have any personal interest in this case. I did work for CPS for several years and have investigated many of these types of cases. I followed the Kelly trial in the media and many things about it just didn’t smell right. I was immediately skeptical because established procedures for handling these cases were not followed. I do have some personal experience with the Smith County DA’s office and Skeen. About a week after the death of my son I went to the DA’s office to ask for assistance in getting some computers back that had been taken. Bingham told me to shut my mouth. I said some things I should have and was told to leave. As I was walking out the door, heading for the elevator I was tackled by an investigator. I was told I was being arrested for disorderly conduct. After putting me in jail they concocted a story saying I had assaulted the investigator. I was taken before Skeen early the next morning and he set my bond at $190,000. I had never been in trouble before, was a homeowner and business owner. There was no reason for the bond to be that high, other than that was what the DA’s office wanted and Skeen does whatever the DA’s office wants. It was no conincidence I was taken before Skeen. I ended up pleading guilty to something I didn’t do in exchange for the charges being lowered to a misdemeanor. I knew and had been told by 2 attorneys I would not get a fair trial in Skeen’s court. Seeing the points of error in Kelly’s trial confirms my fears that I would not get a fair trial. Its hard to live with the lie of the guilty plea but if I hadn’t done that I would probably be sitting in prison for something I didn’t do. Skeen needs to go. The problem is some of the local media are on his side. Most of the people who actually live in Smith County have not heard about the problems with the Mineola case. If you live in Smith County please vote this man out of office. Both he and Bingham belong in prison themselves.

This article is the first I have ever heard about this story. Mr. Hall presented a compelling case for reasonable doubt. I was not there, I have no idea what truly transpired, but neither were the jurors and I have a difficult time understanding how they were able to reach verdicts so quickly in a matter that contained no solid physical evidence. I hope this case will garner more attention. I hate the thought of innocent people serving life sentences for heinous crimes. My heart goes out to the children, whether they were abused or not, for the pressure put on them by the adults in this case.

STACY, You did not come on here saying margie did something to your girls !You were the one at vacation bible school that brought your girls and threatened our older child that "If she didn’t keep her mouth shut you would get booger red and he would hurt her" AND there was witnesses . Your sick husband took your girls over to the club to let them be trained and you didn’t stop him. Stacy you could have stopped it and didn’t don’t you dare say you love those kids they could and will tell the world about you and have told , one day your kids will tell and we can wait but you all need to join the rest in jail especially that husband you had he was named in the beginning, thats why he ran out of the store when he saw the kids.What you did forcing the children to lie on the stand is about as low as it gets, it was sad how your little one had rehearsed answers . God is not done rounding up the ones that did this to the children, all so they could support their drug habits, thats not good ole folks just trying to survive. I am glad you found God to help you but your sins will find you out , If I was you I would go tell the truth about everything and save yourself if you really found Jesus then protect your girls they need help as they grow. How you can stand by and defend the sick monsters and say you didn’t know is sick you threatened (her) with booger red and that was heard by many and she) came running crying scared so don’t even go there.

You all have no idea who or what margie does or is like I do, she took me in when no one else would so don’t talk you were not at our home. There was some "ungratful one’s" and that’s all mike hall wanted to talk to. The little boy that had to where hand me downs???? was as skinny as a pole and years younger than brother, he never wore any hand me downs and OH for your info the spoiled brat drove a beautiful "T" top "red" camero but "tore it up" and had it towed to her home to dump it off and stopped making his payments, MOMMY made him mad because she wouldn’t let him give us younger ones booze, and it made him mad and he moved out and broke my moms heart. so don’t do this to her she loves all the kids and has been through hell for them.p.s. he lied he "did" play sports NOT sit in the bleachers (Pictures) in rags as was printed in blogs and articals.

My name is stacey I am sheila sones daughter i do not usually make comments but when I saw that Margie felt the need to let people know she forgives them I feel the need to let Margie know that I forgive her for all she has put my 2 beautiful nieces my wonderful nephew my beautiful baby sister my older sister my mom my step dad my brother in law and each one of their extended family members and for what I live with every day I do pray that some day I will have all of them home and that we can be the family God created us to be God did not entend for you to raise any of my family he gave you a family so leave mine alone.Had my Father entended for you to raise them He would have let them be born to you. I do pray some day you find my Father He is so loving and forgiving and His arms so big He is the one who holds me at night when I can’t handle another day without my family. You may never read this but if you do let My nieces and nephew know that no matter what any of the domented people have told them that their nieces and nephew and I pray for them and miss them every day and we would be apart of theirs lives if we were able and some day we hope to get to be apart of their lives. To all the other familys who have been touched by this whole situation please know God our Father has an ultimate plan and it is far greater than we can ever fathom. I just wanted to ask anyone in the know, are there any current appeals from those that were convicted? This sounds like the Salem Witch Trials to me, and it only stopped when those doing the accusing become the accused. Hopefully these folks will see new trials in a new jurisdiction.

I sent him a copy of all the comments that were on here, and he wanted to THANK You all personally for your Faith in him. He to believes that he will be set free, and again thanks for everything you all have done for us. As for the " Juror Dean Cagle ? " . Yeah, That is not uncommon :( I had to deal with that sort of thing in my Trial . My Ex Husband was in Law Enforcement. And Me And my family were Not from Texas. So , I had No luck with the Favortism in Wood County. The DA had Alot of friends and I know some were on my Jury . Rumors though right ? Now dont get me wrong ya’ll ! The New DA of Wood County is an Awesome Man and will do good by the Wood County People :) Infact, He is the one that closed this case on the Mineola Folks ! How Smith Co. got involved , I’m not sure ! Although, The GOOD OLE’ BOYS can do what ever they want to whom ever they want to to it too ! I was told Smith Co. was crooked ! Again, Rumor has it ...... I recently became acquainted with members of the Cantrelle family in California, and was so bothered by the actions of one in particular that I did an online search. That person happened to be quoted in this article, which is how I stumbled upon it. I am so disturbed by what I’ve read that I will no longer allow my family near this person; I don’t want to risk my children’s safety or risk having false accusations made against my family! Thank goodness for my mothers’ intuition! I am so grateful to Mr. Hall for writing this article. I hope that the truth soon reveals itself, and that all wrongly convicted can soon rejoin their families. I also hope that my victimized "neighbors" decide to pursue charges here in Solano County. What a travesty, all the way around. Shame on you, Margie Cantrelle!

Hello again . I am Boogers cousin . Today i had to go to Smith County court house for jury duty on a trial with cps. I had to get up before the judge to tell her i could not be a fair juror for the way my cousin was railroaded by the same county who wanted me to be a juror on a long trial. It is very sad when you can not trust the very people who are supposed to be protecting our rights.What has this world come to ? Or shall i say our county.I could care less if they ever call me again because i lost all respect for our court system that sad day in August when a innocent man went to jail for possibly the rest of his life.And i am not one to not do their civic duty. Wood county if you need a juror give me a call. Yall seem to be honest.

So far the defendants with do nothing court appointed lawyers have been railroaded in to life sentences.Boogar Red had his own Attorney and it was obvious to any thinking person that he won his case but he also got a life sentance.This is what happens when you face a Judge who is against you and a Jury that has there minde made up that you are guilty before hearing the case.This could have been avoided had the Judge approved a change in location for the Trial as requsted by the attorney.This was not Justice but rather what is known as a KANGAROO COURT.

Correction: My son was 13 years old. Not 12 years old. And he told Kemp ( With a tape recorder in progress ) that I was Innocent and did not know what had happened ! But of course, The tape recorder was having a problem and could never be used in my Trial ! Which my Trial was a Mistrial ! 2 Jurors fought for me . One even fist fought for me ! Thank You for listening to the TRUTH !!!! Because the Jurors do NOT get to hear EVERYTHING !!!!!! I know this first hand ! There was ALOT they DO NOT get to hear ! Welcome to America ! Land Of The Free ! Now my son is Defending the very people who treated him like CRAP, as if He was the Criminal ! CPS and the State of Texas ! How do you like him now ? He is the one You CPS workers & Texas Ranger Kemp separated him from his sisters , Mother , family , And Dying Grandfather ! He and his sisters were apart from the summer of 2005 til 2007 ( He was able to be with his older sister ) and still not allowed to have contact with his younger sister today April 2009 ! Now you tell me . Who are the Victims? Poor lil Foster Parents who lie ? CPS workers ? Texas Rangers ? NO , The American Families who stand for the TRUTH ! I do not know any of the people accused and charged. I am one of the Mothers who has been punished for doing what a mother is suppose to do for their children. I reported a sexual crime done to my child and then later on another one of my children back in 2003 . Ranger Kemp knows who I am ! CPS knows too ! My 2 older children finally aged out and moved in with me as soon as they did ( I moved away from Texas in 2005 because I could not keep a job due to the Media). But I am still fighting for my younger daughter. Who is not even allowed to have any contact with her siblings nor any one in my family ! CPS , Reunification ? Children first ? Protect the children ?Help the American families ? Bull Crap !!!!!!! The children are Brain Washed by CPS , CPS Counselors, And CPS Foster Parents ! I have been fighting these lieing ,two faced , controlling jerks for almost 6 years ! They have treated me like a Monster ! And treated my family like they are a piece of crap ! And Texas Ranger Phillip Kemp ? He interrogated my son ( Then 12 years old ) for several hours after he & CPS worker ( She knows who she is ) yanked him out of class with out letting my grandparents know , Nor his Attorney ! Kemp & CPS did alot of illegal things . But yet , The courts turned a blind eye ! My Oldest is in College and my son is now In the US Army and achieved a GED . They both did this in my watch . NOT CPS ! They Failed my children & Failed my family ! Some one needs to put a stop to them ! I Pray that Mr.Wheeler is the one who does ! He is a GREAT MAN ! I do have Faith in him ! He too knows who I am . I Pray that these accused are innocent. And if they are? May God Help them ! And if they are Guilty, May God Forgive them. But I must say, The children’s stories are pretty far out there ! I have been molested and raped.I was threatened and it had to stay as a secret. And none were ever charged . But I do know that they could if I could find them . THERE IS NO STATUE OF LIMITATIONS ANYMORE FOLKS !!!!! So, You Cali kids who were assaulted by the FOSTER DAD ? You can fight that and have his butt CHARGED ! That Law was passed a few years ago NATION WIDE ! who ever said that there is NO statue of limitations is WRONG !!!!! They had sleepovers at the house with the kids. My granddaughter would let her kids go with him today. My husband has spent many hours sitting in the yard with Red. Talking good ole boy stuff, cars, fishing, lawn mowers. There was never any Lewd talk. And yes there Music, and Yes there was dancing. Adults and children In the FRONT Yard. I have never seen Red raise his hand in Anger to anyone, especially a woman. I can’t ever remember him angry. I will never believe he is guilty. This was a GREAT INJUSTICE, THIS IS SO WRONG.

I do not know Margie or John Cantrell.I do know from experiance that foster parents are not doing it out of love and compassion.Thy do it for the money.It is just a well paying business.The more kids thy take car of the more money thy recieve.This is there living and thy will protect it by any means thy have to.That includes Making false claimes of child abuse.I read that John Cantrell was accused of child molestation.He got out of that on a technecality.Child services tried to get his Foster Parenting license revoked. The same Judge that sentenced these people to life in prison refused to even revoke this mans license.Makes me wonder about this so called justice system.

I came into the Kelly family July of 2008. I met Patrick Kelly once in the court room and I dont know him personaly but, from everything i have seen and heard he is an innocent man. None of the reports were ever the same and the kids were apparently coached by the 2 monsters that should be in jail for all of this. I dont understand how Margie and John Cantrell are getting away with putting innocent people in jail and hurting all these families out of greed just so they can live outside of their means. Smith county is one of the most backstabbing, coniving, and hypicritical justice systems in Texas. I am embarrassed to live in smith county due to all of the lies and heartache they put on innocent families that are just trying to get by and make a living. Without money here you are no one. I know several people here in smith county that can buy their way out of anything. Are these the kind of people we want running this county???? I think not. As for Margie karma will get the best of her for all the pain she has inflicted on these honest, hardworking people who no longer have the freedom they so deserve. I’ve known Patrick Kelly my whole life. I highly doubt the man would hurt even a fly. I was one of the children that was playing in the front yard while listening to music. I’d play with the dogs, i’d run around with boogie he was an all around amazing person. As i got older he told me many things that have made me a better person today. I was so dumbfounded when i heard of this. Smith County is full of backstabbing, "i’m perfect" people. They couldn’t tell the same story if it killed them. I read the "reports", none of them were the same. My uncle booger is an innocent man. This story was so touching to see someone not settling with the crap. He got royally screwed. There is no nicer way to put it. In fact, it should be said worse, but i feel i should leave it at that in respect for others who disapprove of the words i use to express my anger. Right will prevail in one form or another. As for you liars, i hope that it eats at you to the point you can’t even handle glancing at yourself in the mirror. My love goes out to all the Kelly family. Stay strong.

These people were convicted on the testimony of young children.These children had been grilled over a long period of time by profesionals who are experts at getting the answers thy want.There was no medical evidence presented that the girls were ever penetrated as the testimony claimed thy were.The fact is that KLTV put a slant on this story that contaminated the base the jury was selected from.These defendants were convicted on the jury’s emotions not the facts.Thy never stood a chance.

I am Patrick Kelly’s mom. I hope this article by Michael Hall will finally make people search for the truth about this situation. My son is innocent and you dont know the hell we’ve been going through for the last 3 years.He had a good defense team but the judge would slap them down when they would try to get to the truth. They did all they could in his deffense and we want to thank them once again for that. I do believe this article will be of great help to all of those who have been accused of this crime. I want to once again thank Michael Hall for his kindness and concideration during his interview with us. We also want to thank all the many people we know friends and unknown people we have heard from that believe in his innocense there have been many. We his family and friends have always believed in his innocense and cannot understand where all this came from. I dont know why Margie thinks she is right on this but i do know she will have to live with her concience and answer to god for what she has done. May god forgive you because i never will.

I concur. He is an innocent man, I spent many many nights with him while he was accused of this he was at home with my 2 kids at the time ages were 3 and 10 months. Now i have 3 kids one he has never met all because of some accusations that never occured. I feel he and everyone else in this situation has not been given a fair opportunity because of lies. Smith County Justice is an oxymoron. This whole fiasco would be sad enough if it was an aberration. The fact is, it’s pretty typical of cases handled in Smith County courts. Mix a woman of questionable sanity, an inexperienced and investigator from the Texas Rangers, former prosecutor Skeen on the bench, a prosection team that hides evidence and a holier-than-thou jury...and what do you get? Whatever the result, you cannot call it justice.

I am happy that someone is willing to expose the audacious and sinister facts surrounding this case. I wish that our own local journalists and media personalities weren’t so terrified of confronting Smith County; on the contrary, they seem to willfully ignore the often times outrageous acts of these courts. I would encourage any journalist worth his or her salt to keep a watchful eye on the Smith County Courthouse. You’re likely to pick up a story from time to time. It’s unlikely that you’ll find any competition from local reporters. For many years, the phrase "Smith County Justice" has had a ring of irony to it. I suppose most people here just don’t care too much about imprisoning innocent people, not to mention ruining the lives of the accused. But sometimes, the voyeurs’ kids get in trouble...the tables turn, and all the sudden it just doesn’t seem right to send a kid to prison for life, just for stealing a snickers bar. Thank you, Mr. Hall, for at least entertaining the idea that perhaps there was more to THIS story, after all.

I am Shelia Sones aunt and I know in my heart that she is innocent. We are 3 years apart in age, and I know my neice is not a monster that would do all that she has been accused. Margie Cantrell and John sound like the monsters. I feel Margie has ruined Shelia’s life and the other peoples life.I beleive she has those kids brainwashed and so scared of her that they will do what she says. Three thousand dollars a month per child is paying her bills for that 5000 sq. foot house. She is a greedy woman. I am one of the billion that are laid-off their jobs, and do not know how I will survive, and she is taking the states money because of greed. They say what goes around comes around, and I am sure that she will have to face God and explain to him why she destroyed lives for her own greed. Good night Margie. I hope you sleep good at night knowing so many people think bad of you.
