I Love Ruidoso says:
I grew up in El Paso, and now I live in the mountains just north of there, in Ruidoso, NM. On the average, it’s 10 degrees cooler here than down there, and that makes all the difference. It’s just like being in Texas, too, since everybody here is actually from Texas, desperate to climb to a higher altitude, where they can breathe without scorching their lungs. The high today was 86, and that felt really hot to me, being used to the upper 70s all summer. Wish you were here!

I was born at the height of summer (August) and have lived in the D/FW area all my life. I can't imagine living anywhere north of Wichita Falls. It seems crazy to me that people complain about the heat and yet pay money to fly to far away places to lie in the sun. I love the scene from Superman Returns when he flies to the sun and gets re-energized. That's how I feel when I feel the sun on my skin. I never complain because before I know it, it will be October again.

Chupacbra Stuck in Boston says:
God bless you. I will gladly trade my home state’s heat and sun for this 9+ days (actually try a month) straight of cloudy, dreary, rainy, cold days. It’s supposed to be summer! We haven’t seen the sun in Boston since last Saturday and only then - briefly, before it began to rain again! I’m going to Dallas in late July. I fully expect to swelter the crap of myself, too. Can’t wait.
