Warning Shot
Texas parents have the choice to opt their children out of school vaccination requirements based on “reasons of conscience.” But what about the other kids around them?

As Public Health Advisor in training, I experience the concern and worry that patients wrestle with over the safety of the H1N1 vaccine. All vaccines carry an element of risk, and I think the majority of the populace who opt out due to "reasons of conscience" do so because the time frame between the decision to manufacture the vaccine and the distribution has been rapid, aggressively so. There have been assurances from the CDC that it is perfectly safe, but consider the onslaught of urgent campaigning. I do believe that other vaccines, like polio, meningococcal, and MMR have proven to provide immunity. H1N1? Too soon to tell.

Pamela,
While your article was written with integrity, I disagree with your assessment on the potential damage of immunizations for children so small. I have a family member(2 yrs old) that is autistic, only showing signs after getting her immunizations and a close friend who has an autistic family member, also only started to show signs after getting his immunizations. I don’t believe all immunizations cause harm as people’s bodies react differently but I do believe that childrens immune systems cannot handle such strong dosages at such a young age.
