We have known Kalyn since she was a baby and her story is truly inspiring to young folks. She is the person you saw on TV. Intelligent, kind, sweet and very beautiful. Whether you watch her on stage performing in a musical, walking the runway or singing our National Anthem a cappella at an Astros game, you can feel her worth and all she has to give in this life. We’ve always loved her, but now we are in awe of her.

Kalyn is an extraordinary woman. She is great at what she does and has the "down to earth" mentality! I’ve had the chance to work with her on a fundraiser for high school kids and she was great with them. She came and mentored them on runway walking and they all look up to her with the utmost respect! Thank you Kalyn! You are definitely an angel sent from from God!!!! :)

What you see is what you get: sincerity, humility, grace and poise. More importantly, her life is Christ centered. When Kalyn was eleven years old, she sang the national anthem in front of thousands at a Houston Astros game. Dozens of people asked to have her picture taken with them because they were sure she would be famous someday. It was obvious even then that Kalyn had the "IT" factor. She has the natural, wholesome beauty and a presence that make her stand out everywhere she goes. She’s not just a "triple-threat" -- she’s at least a "quad", and best of all, she’s a well grounded and very kind young woman. Texas should be so proud of this delightful talent and role model for our girls.

I watched every show of Project Runway, I thought it was fantastic and the way that Kalyn handled herself with all of the other models made me proud that I was from the great state of "TEXAS". She was amazing. I hope that I will be seeing more of Kalyn modeling and what ever she plans for herself in the future. The sky is the limit for her.

Kalyn is a genuine doll and has not changed in all the years we’ve known her and her family.
She was very special growing up in Lake Jackson to my parents and we are all so very proud of her accomplishments. It’s too bad others in the entertainment business can’t be role models like Kayln is. If only she had been able to sing during the Models contest - there would have been no competition!

Now, this is an article that every Texan will want to read & think about. I wish that it had included the fact that Kalyn won the 2009 Roger Sturtevant Award for outstanding accomplishments as an Equity Membership Candidate in the stage, screen & audio entertainment business. This award is given yearly to the most promising male & female Equity Candidates. It validates her abilities & accomplishments.

What a great piece about someone doing something worthy of some acclaim vs all the negative stories that put people in print! Kudos to Texas Monthly and this lovely young role model for giving us something worth reading about.I know I am not alone in thinking we have long needed a dose of "CLEAN LAUNDRY" from the media. It’s so exciting to see how the world is responding to Kalyn now that she has won "Models of the Runway". I’ve known her since she was a little girl and followed her career. What a driven, sweet, determined, goal-focused, Christ-centered, polite and fun young woman she is. She looks amazing on camera and is keeping her career on track by choosing wisely and making good decisions.She is someone whom young girls can aspire to be like and look up to as she’s not into parties, drugs or any type of dangerous self-destructive habits. Which also makes her a joy for designers and photographers to work with. Her parents are to be credited for raising her so well.

In anticipation of the magazine arriving in the mail, I read this article online about Kalyn. She is the reason I became such a big fan of Project Runway and Models of the Runway! Down to earth, nice, and everything all above is what people in the world should know more about Kalyn. Most celebrities are not good role models for young people as they are conceited and selfish. Beautifully written article. Kalyn’s innate goodness and sprititual maturity enabled her to respond with strength and dignity when another model repeatedly made the infamous "tape" accusations.
