I thought the new, preferred term is North Texas. I long ago stopped using the word metroplex because it sounds so absurd and found myself naturally using the term North Texas. As a Fort Worthian, I take great offense to ever including Fort Worth with Dallas as the same "place".

Hm. If that ever happened, Fort Worth should secede from the Metroplex. We can sustain ourselves just fine, with the only reason to visit Dallas being to see the spot where a president was mercilessly gunned down. Good legacy ya got there! (Fun fact: JFK remarked that he enjoyed his time in Fort Worth. I guess he can’t say the same for y’all!) Yes, I went there :p Amazing how much difference 32 miles makes in both arrogance and douchebaggery. It’s uncanny, I say!

Fort Worth is the 16th largest city in the nation, so I’d say about 750,000 people and growing "give a shit" and won’t ever be called Dallas. Fort Worth didn’t become so large by just piggy backing on Dallas. It is a city with its own rich history, and industry. Let’s not sweep it aside with Farmers Branch (which I am sure is also a great place to live). But, about 749,999 people living in Fort Worth would remind you, it is not and never will be Dallas. Beware Tim those are fighting words. So please, don’t call it Dallas either.

This is extremely offensive. I can’t belive it’s published in a reputable magazine. When I travel, I actually DO say Dallas-Ft. Worth METROPLEX.
