Texas leads all states in net job creation since 1990, and this growth is broad-based. Texas ranks among the leading states in nearly all major economic sectors in job growth. Between January 2004 and December 2004, Texas gained an estimated 124,800 new jobs. In fact, Texas has over 2.4 million more jobs now than when the nineties began—a 36% increase since January 1990. This figure exceeds the number added by any other state.
