Burton M. Tansky, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Neiman Marcus Group, has enjoyed a long career leading luxury retail stores. His current stable includes Bergdorf Goodman, Horchow and the Dallas-born Neiman Marcus, which turned 100 last year. The first store began with a $25,000 investment—far less than many of the big-ticket gifts in Neiman’s annual Christmas Book.
