College Station dentist Don McLeroy has served on the Texas State Board of Education for a decade, gaining a reputation as a right-leaning vote on issues like evolution and sex education. The Board’s decisions affect every public school student in Texas—more than 4.5 million at last count. But McLeroy says his views don’t always match his image.
