John Sharp, Former Texas Comptroller (Thursday, January 29th 2009)
Democrat John Sharp was elected to the Texas House, Senate and Railroad Commission before serving as Comptroller for eight years. He left that office to run for Lieutenant Governor, losing in 1998 and 2002. Sharp recently announced his next statewide race, this time for Kay Bailey Hutchison’s Senate seat. It’s not officially open until 2012 but when she walks away to run for Governor, Sharp will be waiting.
