Roy Spence, Co-Founder, GSD&M Idea City (Monday, February 9th 2009)

Roy Spence had a new degree in government and no advertising experience when he founded an ad agency with five friends in 1971. Nearly 40 years later, GSD&M Idea City is a lucrative company with a reputation as one of the most innovative and important agencies around. If the firm’s name doesn’t mean anything to you, their campaigns certainly will. They’re the ones who warned us, “Don’t Mess with Texas” and the ones who had the idea to paint Southwest Airlines planes to look like Shamu.
