Just a 15-minute drive from Tyler, Kiepersol may be the only restaurant in East Texas with a dress code. Nestled in a vineyard, it’s a special, romantic spot, where dishes like duck-and-jalapeño “cigars” with fruit relish coexist eclectically with classic steakhouse chops and seafood; we were delighted with the pistachio-encrusted sea bass in a white wine butter sauce, with creamed corn that seemed just off the farm. We were just a little less pleased with a vegan “steak,” a slightly odd concoction of mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. Bar.
