School’s fired back up, but you can catch a lingering taste of summer at Cowamongus, on Texas Tech’s campus. In fact, you might want to start with the ice cream, which they mix and freeze right there at the dairy. Sweet Cream remains our favorite, but the coffee, Butterfinger, and old-fashioned chocolate are fine too. Then move on to the flame-grilled Pepper Jack Cheeseburger, adorned with a slice of spicy cheese so thick you’ll need a full glass of water to quench the kick.
