Mar Yy Tierra
Owned by two charming brothers, Mar y Tierra is minimalist but excellent. For a decadent breakfast or brunch, try the chilaquiles (corn tortillas cooked tender with red or green sauce, onions, queso, and two eggs any style) or the enchiladas montadas (cheese enchiladas with two eggs on top). The traditional lunches and dinners are fine, but it would be a mistake to miss seafood like the botana de ceviche (raw fish marinated in lemon juice and spread with pico on tostadas) or the myriad varieties of shrimp (deviled, with ranchera sauce, rolled in bacon). The salsa bar is the best in town: we love the fiery verde and the cool cucumber. (5/12)
